Summer is here! Go see some live music!

Kaplan-Shaw Blues Band have recently been put in the spotlight with a wonderful review of their CD "Right As Rain" In Elmore Magazine. Like their soon to be released Mojo Cafe, Mike and Lou recorded at home and brought me the tracks to mix. It sounds super sweet!

The new Sim Redmond Band CD "Room In These Skies" is done and will be available for sale any time now. Using word to describe how well this CD turned out would not do it justice. Go buy it!

Speaking of new released The HorseFlies have finally released their first studio CD in about 17 years! I had the great privilege of recording some of the basic track for this CD and they did a fine job!

Also in the new releases department is Charles Havira's new CD which came out really well and may soon be followed up with a live CD!

Pastor, er, I mean, Reverend Robin Blair is in the home stretch of a run of 200 podcasts on faith based parenting and has a new internet radio station called Common Good Radio.

Regina O'Brien has started work on a new cd of her always wonderful songs, tracking with Curtis Kretz from Teacher's Lounge and Walt Lorenznut of Hupcap on bass. This will be a good one!

On of my great joys in the past month was getting started on a new project with Jamestown's Steve Johnson Band. Steve, with Big Leg Emma band mates Amanda Barton and Steve Davis together with percussionist TR McKotch blend americana, bluegrass and gospel together with tribal west African drumming to create a sound all their own.

A Capella folk singer Pamela Goddard is back record another collection of traditional songs! This time she's talking about adding other voices including Emily and Sophia from Glass Of Water, Jim Blake from the OffBeat 5 and maybe even Gail and Jennifer from Kitchen Chair for some guitar and fiddle!

Adam Crown may actually finish his fine CD Many Ponies after he finishes hiring all the best musicians in town to play on it!  He recently added tracks by trumpet master Frank Campos and the lovely voices of Jen Middaugh and Marie Burns. Wow! Look forward to this one, especially if you like horses.

Political folkie George Mann is nearly done compiling Hail To The Thief IV. Can you guess who the songs are about?

Coming up will be acoustic duo Littlewheel and a bunch of live shows with The HorseFlies, including the FingerLakes Grassroots Festival!

Working with Will in the studio is such a rewarding experience.  I am continually astonished by how he’s able to combine his knowledge of recording with a musician’s vision.  His ability to find the most effective way to communicate this vision to the listenter is amazing.  As a musician, I truly appreciate his deep respect for the music and his passion to take it to the highest level.
